Willie Weir: ‘Tiva to Tekoa’ program highlights virtues of rail trail

Bicycling advocate Willie Weir is presenting programs to benefit the Friends of the John Wayne Pioneer Trail -- a rail trail across Eastern Washington.

TRAILS — Bicycling author and advocate Willie Weir of Seattle will present a program on the role an Eastern Washington rail trail played in relationship with his fearful dog, Tiva, at 7 p.m. onThursday, Oct. 13, at Mountain Gear Corporate Headquarters , 6021 E. Mansfield Ave. in Spokane Valley.

Weir is a VERY entertaining speaker with a wealth of knowledge about bicycling born from 60,000 miles of touring through 35 countries and writing about it for decades.  Don’t miss this.

The program, “Tiva to Tekoa: a rescued dog travels a rescued trail,” is a fundraiser the Friends of the John Wayne Pioneer Trail , with a $10 minimum donation requested.
