You can vote for Pedro, but …
You can write-in Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Pedro for U.S. president, in protest of the two main candidates who are running, and your ballot will still count. Huckleberries just got off the phone with County Clerk Jim Brannon re: writing in a fictitious name for president. I’m flirting with the idea of writing in “Pedro” of “Napoleon Dynamite” fame. Jim tells Huckleberries that such a ballot would go to a review board to double check. The vote for “Pedro” won’t be counted. But the down-ticket votes will. Also, Jim noted that he just received the names of 37 legitimate write-in candidates for president, from the Idaho Secretary of State’s office. Jim said he’ll send Huckleberries a copy of that list after he posts it on his county elections department web site. Votes for those 37 people will be counted.
