Last general election rodeo
I’ve been mulling a comment made recently by Marianne Love in her Slight Detour blog. She pointed out that she’s reached an age where she may be doing some things for the last time, like visiting an area or participating in an event. I still have some mileage left on me, especially in running this blog. I plan to sign up for at least one more year of blogging for the SR. However, I’m aware that this’ll be my last presidential election as a blogger. I won’t be blogging four years from now when Hillary runs for a second term. Yeah, I suspect she’ll win now that Trump is in free fall. I began this blog 12+ years to support the re-election bid of George W. Bush. Now, I don’t plan to vote for either major candidate Nov. 8. Some may see that as growth. Others may see that in a lesser light. What happens nationally in this election will have an impact on our lives. But Idaho will vote for Trump. So what we say or do here makes little difference. However, the nonpartisan elections for school board and City Council next year will be important to keep the local hard-core Republicans from driving those 2 important board back into an ideological ditch. I consider those 2 elections worth sticking around for/ DFO .
