Reykdal wins on experience

I have worked in the public education arena for a long time and am strongly supporting Chris Reykdal for superintendent of public instruction.

Chris credits public education as being the primary factor in helping him break the cycle of poverty and has dedicated his entire career to enhancing public education. His experience has been successful in a variety of arenas including serving as a classroom teacher, a school board member and a legislator.

In his “day job” with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, Chris works to ensure that we have the most robust and successful community and technical college systems in the nation. Chris understands that we need a seamless preschool to higher education system guaranteeing that our citizens have access to the best education, the best jobs and that our future economy is strong.

The superintendent is responsible for allocating the annual $9 billion budget that flows through OSPI, managing a large state agency, setting learning standards for every grade level and advocating at the state and federal level on behalf of 1.1 million children in our schools.

I believe that Chris Reykdal is the only candidate who has the experience to do this job well.
