Reykdal the right choice

I am a student at Washington State University, and I am studying to become a teacher. I met with Chris Reykdal, candidate for superintendent of public instruction, a few months ago, and it was clear that he was the right choice.

Chris’ background in education is immense. He grew up in poverty, and he says that it was his public education that gave him the opportunities he needed to succeed in life. He has spent his entire career paying it forward to the next generation of young learners.

Chris has been a teacher and a school board member, and he has served the last six years as a state legislator and the last 14 years as a budget executive at the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

His wife is a school board member and an award-winning school counselor, and his two kids are in the fifth and seventh grades. If Chris is elected, he will be the first superintendent in three decades to have kids in public school while he serves.

Chris is serious about K-12 education and all kids. He’s got this future teacher’s vote, and I hope he will have yours too.
