Pakootas a better advocate

Joe Pakootas would do a much better job of representing the interests of the 5th District than the incumbent, Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

McMorris Rodgers votes against food stamps, opposes Obamacare and supports privatizing the VA health care system, which would pit veterans against stockholders concerned about the bottom line. She also favors cutting Social Security and Medicare by raising the minimum age and switching to vouchers.

McMorris Rodgers’ views are diametrically opposed to the needs of the 5th District. About 20 percent of the residents rely on food stamps, over 81,000 residents are signed up for Obamacare, and veterans rely on a VA healthcare system unencumbered by a stockholder focus. Residents of the 5th District also need assurance that Medicare and Social Security will be there when they need them in their senior years.

Joe Pakootas understands the needs of residents of the 5th District. He recognizes the importance of food stamps and Obamacare, particularly for children. He supports strengthening Medicare, Social Security and veteran benefits.

Joe also understands the importance of education, job training, a living wage and equal pay for women and minorities. He would be a much better advocate for the 5th District.
