Columbus a matter of pride

Here we go again, Spokane liberals on the City Council following other lemmings like Seattle or San Francisco in renaming Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Nothing against Native Americans, and yes, Columbus probably did commit some injustices, but Columbus is a matter of pride to thousands of Italian Americans who came to this country and mightily contributed to her success.

How about a special day commemorating the great achievements contributed by Native Americans and leave Columbus Day alone? Remember you can’t say Native American without referencing Amerigo Vespucci, who is the Italian explorer America is named for.
