Pakootas smart, practical

Consider voting for Joe Pakootas in November. He is intelligent and practical. As CEO, he put the enterprises of the Colville Confederated Tribes in the black. He successfully sued Teck Cominco, forcing a heavy metal cleanup of Lake Roosevelt and the Columbia River. He is humble and caring. His home was the unofficial “safe house” in his community. His family business put food on the table and sent his kids to college. A lot like the rest of us, but maybe just a bit better. I chat with him every chance I get. I know he is better and smarter than me.

His opponent, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a parent of two young daughters and son with Down syndrome, has endorsed Donald Trump for the highest office in this nation. You know, the guy who mocked the disabled reporter from a podium; the guy who demeans and objectifies women. Her standards are so low and her party loyalty so high, she seems unable to think for herself or find her way in a complex world.

If she can’t be outraged and defend her own children, how can she possibly have the courage or intellect to represent or defend you and your interests?
