ACA a scheme to buy votes

Years ago I debated the pros and cons of the ACA with a proponent of the law. I told him I could not understand how a law that mandated insuring 30 million additional people with all kinds of bells and whistles would save people an average of $2,500 per year. I was right.

The good news is that millions more now have insurance, though that number is still far from the 30- plus million predicted. The bad news is that hard-working taxpayers are being forced to pay for their insurance while suffering double digit premium increases on their own insurance.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, as major insurers continue to pull out of markets, and as the remaining government funded co-ops continue to go broke. Democrats will soon push for single payer (government sponsored) care. As with many other countries it will appear to be cheaper, and it will be for those receiving subsidies. Hard-working taxpayers will then be forced to pay even more.

Obamacare is not and never has been about better health care. It’s just another liberal scheme to buy votes. Coming soon: Very long wait times.
