CWI trustees eye $180 million, 25-year bond issue for campus improvements in Boise, Nampa

The College of Western Idaho is planning a $180 million, 25-year bond issue, the Idaho Press-Tribune reports today, and if voters approve, it would pay for major expansions and improvements at both its Nampa and Boise campuses. The bond would cost taxpayers about $22.31 per $100,000 of taxable value.

The bond would fund an academic and professional center at the new Boise campus with training labs, classrooms and students services, along with site improvements, common areas and land costs, the newspaper reported; at the CWI’s main campus in Nampa, it would fund a health sciences building, a “student success center” that would include a library and classrooms, a central services building, renovations to existing academic buildings, road improvements and more. The Press-Tribune’s full report is online here . The Boise Weekly also has a report here that includes concept drawings of the Boise campus.
