TGIF Wild Card — 9.9.16
Thirty-two years ago today, I joined the Coeur d’Alene bureau of The Spokesman-Review, after 2 years as news editor of the Lewiston Tribune. I didn’t plan to stay in Coeur d’Alene three decades. But the beauty of this place and the chance to move around within the SR’s staff kept me here. In the last 32 years here, I was a local government/investigative reporter (1984-93), an editorial writer (1993-2006) and a blogger (2004 until present). I’ve written the Huckleberries print column since January 1985. I feel that I have the best newspaper job in the state of Idaho. I don’t know how many miles I have left in my newspaper career. But my gas gauge hasn’t hit the warning area yet. So let’s start another year. Here’s your TGIF Wild Card …
