Differing takes on prez debate

Idaho and Washington congressional and party leaders split right down party lines in their impressions of Monday’s much-watched first presidential debate. Here’s what some of them had to say afterward:

Steve Yates, Idaho Republican Party chairman : “Tonight’s debate illustrated the importance of electing Donald Trump as our next commander in chief. While he focused on what was best for the American people, Hillary Clinton focused on personal attacks against Donald Trump and shifting the blame away from herself. Issues such as immigration, the economy, and foreign policy will define our country in the next four years, and it is clear that on these issues, Hillary Clinton has, and will, fail the American people.”

Bert Marley, Idaho Democratic Party chairman : “Ever since the primary, it has been clear that Democrats believe that America’s best days are ahead of us and that the GOP believes that our best days are past. That basic disagreement was on full display tonight during the presidential debate. I, for one, am proud to look ahead into a future full of opportunity, prosperity and a legacy of which we can be proud.” More here.

Question: Did the debate change your mind re: who you will vote for?
