Public testimony wraps up; next gap coverage meeting set for Oct. 24

It’s more than an hour past the time the Legislature’s committee on the health coverage gap had been scheduled to wrap up this afternoon. Ten more people are on a waiting list to testify if there were time; Rep. Tom Loertscher, R-Iona, asked the committee’s preference, and several members said they had to leave, so he asked those people to submit their comments to the committee in writing.

“We’ve had an awful lot of food for thought today,” Loertscher said. “And we appreciate those who’ve come to testify.” The committee then set its next meeting for Oct. 24. “I would anticipate that at that meeting we’ll hash out what we intend to do,” he said.
