Give Pakootas a chance

There were originally five candidates vying to represent Washington’s Fifth District in the U.S. Congress. Great. Out of our several options, we now have two. There is huge voter dissatisfaction. Let’s select wisely.

Eight years ago, and again, four years ago, Americans courageously elected an African-American president. The sky didn’t fall in. President Obama’s many super achievements changed the lives of many citizens for the better, and his current approval ratings are higher than ever.

Let’s be brave again. Let’s give a chance to shine and admirably represent us in the Fifth Congressional District to an American Indian with an MBA from the University of Washington: Joe Pakootas. Joe’s successful and hard work on behalf of several tribes (Nez Perce, Colville, Kalispel) are a testament to his character, values and temperament. Joe will not shame us in Washington, D.C.

The nation’s founders correctly decided that our congressional representatives should be voted on every two years. So why not give proven leader Joe Pakootas an opportunity to show what an American Indian from Eastern Washington can do for our district and for our country? Why not?
