Redux: Almost banned in CdA
From the Huckleberries Files 25 years ago (April 6, 1992):
A science project sat in one corner of the conference room last week as epidemiologist Jan Schwartz addressed the sixth annual Panhandle Heath District adolescent health conference. It was a typical poster filed with information and fliers about sexually transmitted diseases. Schwartz’s fifth-grade daughter made it. But the project was almost banned by nervous school officials because it had the words “sexual intercourse” on it, according to the girl’s mom. Schwartz persuaded school officials to relent without telling her daughter about the flap. The girl hoped to win a first place after all her hard work, but her mother gently told her that she was lucky her project was even on display.
