Sleepless photographer captures ‘moonbow’ over Palouse Falls

NATURE — Rainbows are common, but have you ever seen a “moonbow?”

Spokane pastor and photographer Craig Goodwin took advantage of a cold, clear night and his aversion to normal sleeping habits to capture this natural phenomenon at Palouse Falls State Park at 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

The rainbow is created by the light of the moon refracting in the mist around the falls.

“Those are the actual colors of the moonbow, captured with a 30 second exposure,” he said.
