Consequences for Trump

Every adult with a child knows there must be consequences when that child acts inappropriately in order to discourage future bad behavior. President Trump has behaved inappropriately many times and, so far, there haven’t been any consequences. His latest inappropriate act, falsely charging the former president with a felony, must be punished.

It appears that a partisan Congress is unable to levy any punishment. Therefore, it is up to the Democratic minority in the Senate to use their leverage over the approval of Judge Gorsuch for the Supreme Court. Even though Judge Gorsuch appears to be qualified, the Senate Democrats should demand President Trump to unequivocally apologize to former President Obama and the American people for his false charge as a condition for approving Judge Gorsuch’s nomination.

Hopefully our immature president will understand that his “unconventional” actions are boorish and very harmful to our Nation’s standing in the world and must be discontinued.
