Burying bad Trump news

The Spokesman’s publisher and editors are increasingly appearing to be apologists for the Trump administration as they continue to bury what should be front page coverage of the most troubled early presidency in American history.

In less than 100 days, our president and his hires have embroiled themselves in an unprecedented level of scandal and investigation, and yet, judging from the pattern of front page and online Spokesman coverage, readers might guess things in Washington D.C. are smooth as glass.

While it’s reasonable for owners and editors to respect the office of the president, burying bad news about the man in charge of our government is a failure of journalistic integrity.

Please move the most important news in our country to its appropriate place on the front page above the fold. Otherwise, your publication risks losing its place as an important regional source of solid, balanced journalism in lieu of becoming a minor purveyor of local boosterism.
