Permit process daunting

You know, I actually have sympathy for the luckless folks who have to go through the permitting process with a local municipality. Obtaining a permit is daunting, especially when going through it for the first time. Also, it is a moving target. So even if you are experienced at obtaining permits, it is still challenging because changes are always taking place, both internal and external to the municipality.

This recent incident of a road being bulldozed through city parkland along High Drive Bluff will give the city of Spokane, Department of Ecology, Avista, property owners, etc. plenty of fodder to wail and gnash their teeth about (maybe also to show some fangs). This story line should be interesting to watch and see how it plays out (thank you, Spokesman Review).

Another episode taking place during David Condon’s tenure. In the meantime, I hope the road will be used by Avista for line maintenance, by local residents as another access trail by which to enjoy the woods and by First Tee as needed.
