Mud Jeans: Who’s the fool?

Nordstrom has received considerable blowback from the social media by trying to sell a pair of jeans and a denim jacket covered in what appears to be mud, for $425 apiece. According to a New York Times report, the store’s website copy says the jeans “embody rugged, Americana workwear that’s seen some hard-working action.” Story here.

DFO: This sounds like the Nordstrom equivalent of Elaine’s “urban sombrero” in the “Seinfeld episode.

Question: Who is crazier here — Nordstrom’s for offering this dirty “Canadian tuxedo”? Or anyone who would buy it?
