Climate vs. potholes
Sue Lani Madsen’s July 15 column caused panic among the climate activists. Her research and reporting did not sit well with those who don’t understand what true scientific research is. Climate change has always occurred and will continue regardless of the actions of man. It’s now known as global warming in the summer and climate change in the winter.
The larger point of her missive was lost on many of the letter writers thus far. The City Council chose to concentrate on a hot button political issue “climate change” for which they won’t/can’t be held accountable. Ignored was the problem of potholes.
The issue of potholes requires real world solutions with hard decisions involving taxpayer monies. Those kinds of decisions can cost your re-election. The easier route was to address an issue far less pressing and a lot safer politically.
