The codger was a ‘boyfriend’

A middle-age Huckleberry Friend noted on her Facebook page recently that she and her “boyfriend” had ridden the Coeur d’Alene Carousel. I’ve always wondered about that. Lovers do refer to their Significant Others as “girlfriends” and “boyfriends,” even when said friends are middle-aged. Should there be another name? Lovers? What?
