Additions to Rushmore

Letters to the editor are an enjoyable form of public discourse. But occasionally I am left speechless, as in, why bother? Jim Barbieri thinks Donald Trump is the next Ronald Reagan. Reagan, an honorable, upstanding guy even if he wasn’t very bright, must be turning in his grave. All I can say is ha, ha, ha, ha! Are the tears in my eyes from laughing so hard, or am I just weeping for my country?

Why not just dynamite Mount Rushmore and carve out a new two-faced monument to Reagan and Trump? Reagan’s visage can have his eyes averted, as he did to the slaughterhouse perpetrated by his underlings in Central America. Trump’s mouth can just have a sewer pipe coming out of it.
