Local Democrats, like their brethren nationwide, roared and mocked when VP Quayle booted the spelling on “potato.” But they really don’t have room to laugh. In announcing the 13h annual Art Manley Huckleberry Social, Demo honcho Bob Brown twice spelled “dessert” with one S. Maybe that’s why Bob and the rest of the Democrats had such a hard time 18 months ago deciding what to do in the middle East. They probably thought Desert Storm was a first-strike attack against a Baghdad … pastry shop.
