Motivation is love

The historic Christian view is that humanity is “fallen” from the ideal design parameters of our creator; that humankind is since infected by permeating and deceptive “sinful” nature resulting in myriad confusion, including gender identity. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “… Don’t be deceived; fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, homosexuals, thieves, the covetous, drunkards, revilers, or swindlers, will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Scripture continues with the message of love: “Such were some of you; but you were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

The uniquely Christian solution: Everyone affected by deceptive fallen nature — including gender confusion — is redeemed and restored by the work of Jesus in “justification” and of the Holy Spirit through “sanctification.” This is the message of love: The fallen need not remain alienated from God who gave his own son to atone for sin, and gives us his spirit to transform from within. Love doesn’t condemn but offers redemption and hope.

Don’t denigrate by assigning “hate” as our motive. This message of love and redemption has been embraced and experienced by millions over two millennia. Our motivation is all love.
