Curse of the plastic fences

For all too long, Spokane and the county have been cursed by huge billboards. And as long as the powers do not have the courage or will to do something about it, Spokane will always be a second-class community.

Now we have another curse, the curse of the plastic fences. People like them because they don’t require any maintenance. Sure they don’t; they are dead already. They are plastic walls; they are uninteresting, never change and are all the same. They are not transparent, so that one cannot see any of the plants and features behind. They make for dull and ugly neighborhoods.

I don’t think anybody has the power to stop this, but a public outcry might help.
