Got your back, Jack

The decision should be a piece of cake – Masterpiece Cakes, that is. Jack Phillips is defending his First Amendment right to live and work according to his conscience before the Supreme Court on Dec. 5. He believes that same-sex marriage is outside of God’s design for human sexuality and therefore the government should not force him to take part in that event.

Like many other creative vendors, including Barronelle Stutzman, a florist in Richland, he is happy to make and sell his craft to anyone regardless of their sexual preference, but he will not be forced to participate in an event against his conscience. That decision could cost him his livelihood and his personal property.

If The Supreme Court rules against him, it will be ruling against everyone’s first freedom: religious liberty. The very liberty our founding fathers fought, died and established a nation on. Civil liberties travel together. If we lose our freedom of conscience, we lose freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and economic freedom. Learn more at WeGotYourBackJack.com.
