Jackson will change tune

In Sally Jackson’s recent letter (“Tax check hard to write,” Jan. 22), she failed to disclose that besides being a politically disgruntled 80-year-old widow, she is a longtime Democratic activist, former Spokane County Democratic chairwoman and a failed legislative candidate.

Her non-imaginative and standard partisan talking points are bland pablum to an informed citizen’s ears. Yes, President Trump is a multi-millionaire who probably limits his federal income tax liability by utilizing rules that were written and passed by both Democratic and Republican Congresses and signed by administrations of the same. Also, Russia has had no better “schmuck” to embarrass and use than Obama when he said, “I’ll have more flexibility after the election.”

Hopefully next year, she can write to thank the Republican Congress and administration for lowering her taxes and making her retirement more comfortable.
