Tongue-tied but determined
Jean Evans of Moscow gets tongue-tied when talking on phones, especially with someone she hasn’t met before. Despite that, she called
Sen. Mike Crapo’s office recently to voice her opposition to the nomination of Betsy DeVos for Education Secretary. Jean Facebooks how it went: “J
ust made my phone call to Sen Crapo’s D.C. office to ask him to vote no on Betsy DeVos. Had the script up from the one site (thesixtyfive.org) and proceeded to trip over my tongue after introducing myself. Apologized for sounding a mess and said I wanted him to vote no on her. The staffer who answered was very nice, said it was okay and would let Crapo know. I really, really hate talking on telephones. But I got it done. Now to get my nerves to settle again. Maybe I should have called his Idaho office, they are still closed and would have gotten voice mail.”
DFO: I don’t have a phobia re: talking on a telephone with someone. I simply don’t like talking on telephones. How about you?
