My concerns as a woman

Stephanie Cates, chairwoman of the Spokane County Republican Party, was quoted as being curious about what rights women think are going to be taken away.

My concerns: 1. Keep the right to choose an abortion. 2. Women should not lose health care just so politicians can destroy the ACA. 3. Planned Parenthood must remain federally funded. 4. I do not want to not lose my Social Security and Medicare benefits. I’ve paid into them for my entire adult life. 5. Fellow women of Mexican descent who have “Dreamer” children in this country should not lose them to some silly effort to send these kids back to a country that they don’t even know. 6. I am in solidarity behind all my fellow Muslim women who are feeling like they may be threatened with deportation. 7. I stand behind all our young women in public schools who are being robbed of an education due to business people wanting to transform schools into private “factories” called charter schools.

If Cates is still confused, I encourage her to meet with women who are feeling the same. It’s important that Republicans and Democrats begin to hear and understand the electorate and come up with solutions to make us all feel safer.
