DFO: I have a sister who now lives in SoCal and has nothing nice to say about the winters in the Inland Northwest. She lived in Kalispell, Mont., for decades. While tweeting back-and-forth during the Super Bowl, she was bad-mouthing our weather. I cut in and said something to the effect that our winters aren’t all that bad. And that they end — unlike southern California traffic and smog. She wasn’t persuaded.
