Wild Card/Monday — 2.6.17

We begin the countdown to Blogfest 2017 this week 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Fort Ground Grill). The SR will provide the usual food fare this year — pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese, beens, cole slaw, salad, cookies and pop. Huckleberries Online, meanwhile, will provide a State of the Blog (will DFO retire soon or won’t he?) and the Big Reveal of the poetry book, “The Bard of Sherman Avenue: Poems by Tom Wobker.” Washington Poet Laureate Tod Marshall will be present (as will several dozens of Tom’s poetry books for sale at $10) for the reveal. We’ll also toast our friends departed, including Tom Wobker, Patrick Jacobs, Joan Harman and others. No excuses for missing this year. Who knows? It could be the last blogfest. I’m not getting any younger. Here’s your Monday Wild Card …
