Katrina: Slip on the ice, there goes the pinky finger
Katrina Wright Swaim describes the agony of a winter slip on ice, under the heading of “The Klutz Chronicles: Chapter 89”:
“This (Monday) morning as I shuffled out to the car to take Caleb to school, I stepped on a patch of black ice and both my feet flew up in the air like I was a cartoon. Unlike a cartoon, however, I did not bounce. Most of the impact was on my tailbone, but I also hit the back of my head on the house and sprained my right pinkie finger somehow.
“No video was taken of the event, so I won’t even have that tidy $10,000 from AFV to comfort me in my distress! … Fortunately, I had a doctor’s visit this afternoon, and she pronounced me probably not horribly maimed.
“I assume this ‘fresh roadkill’ feeling will go away with time. In the meanwhile, feel free to laugh, and learn from my painful fiasco. Living through 15 Idaho winters does not completely shield you from the possibility of hilariously smearing yourself across a patch of icy pavement.”
Question: Have you slipped on the ice and fallen this winter? Much damage?
