Applauding STA, drivers
I’ve been riding the city buses for almost 40 years. It always strikes me when many bus drivers go out of their way to be kind and thoughtful when someone has a question or are trying to find the right bus to get to a certain destination.
It must be difficult at times when a rider is obnoxious or hostile. Yet the drivers keep their cool and help anyway. I mentioned this once to a driver and he said “It comes with the territory.”
The fare for bus service is very reasonable. They don’t operate for profit and need government funding to stay in business. It pays off in the long run because so many lower income people can get to the store or work or go shopping.
I applaud the Spokane Transit Authority wholeheartedly and with much gratitude.
