My sweetheart and I met at a church Valentine’s Day Dinner 44 years ago. I was the guest speaker. She and a friend came around a corner, laughing. They’d just seen their Youth Minister and his wife break the bench used for couples’ photos. I was distracted, getting mentally prepared to deliver my speech. But I noticed her. Our paths would cross many times afterward. Once we started dating, it wasn’t long before I realized I was smitten. We’ll celebrate our 42nd anniversary on June 21. I’m a lucky guy.
