Time to denounce Bannon

Steve Bannon’s increasing power has left me with a plea to my Eastern Washington neighbors: ask Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers to denounce him. I am fiscally conservative and completely believe in government accountability, but Bannon’s form of conservative values are archaic and deserve to be buried with the relics of American history.

Bannon is an affront to our culture and his views are dangerous. He is a spokesman for the “alt-right” movement. It is not another form of right wing Republicanism. Many newspapers have actually dropped the term “alt-right” in favor of what it really is: white supremacy. Glenn Beck recently said, “The alt-right movement is truly terrifying.”

Bannon is known to have said that only property owners should be able to vote, he did not want his daughters to attend school with Jewish children and that the “German Identity” from the early mid-1900s was a nation state identity that is similar to the “alt-right.”

Everyone who cares about the rights of women and minorities, freedom of speech and religion need to immediately call Rep. McMorris Rogers and tell her to ask for Steve Bannon’s resignation.
