Stop the insanity

Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution states “This Constitution and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be The Supreme Law of the Land.” This means any treaty ratified by Congress shall be the law above any other law, federal, state or municipal.

Trump reportedly wants to reauthorize “black sites,” allowing for refoulement and rendition for purposes of torture in violation of the 3rd and 4th Geneva Conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, treaties ratified by Congress.

In authorizing the Dakota Access Pipeline, Trump is in violation of the Declaration of Indigenous People’s Rights, which guarantees “legal recognition and protection of these lands, territories and resources.” Trump’s decree violates the recognition of lands and the resource of clean water to the indigenous people whose ancestral lands are being raped by the greed of the fossil fuel industry.

These violations qualify as high crimes and misdemeanors as specified in the Constitution as justifications for impeachment. Are we a country governed by the rule by law or not? Stop this insanity; impeach Trump now.
