Teach parenting

A recent S-R article told of most problems of classroom disruptions being caused by children from poor homes where the parents are struggling too hard to make ends meet to pay attention to the needs of the kids.

The school district could alleviate the situation by teaching parenting as part of a sex education course now required by many high schools. Whether or not the students are educated in sexual matters, sooner or later they will be involved in sexual activities, and the resulting children will need the very best parenting.

Good parenting begins the very day that the child is born, by cuddling the baby, talking or singing to it, and making it feel loved. Soon after, the child must be held in the lap and read to and told nursery rhymes. As the child grows older, it develops an interest in reading, and at that moment, the parent must be ready to give the child its favorite storybook. The child is developing a love of learning that will last for the rest of its life

Good parenting will eventually be appreciated by the teachers, the loving parents and by the children themselves.
