The death of long-time resort owner Bob Templin this morning wasn’t unexpected. I’d learned from his daughter, Blythe, that Bob had been placed in Hospice care weeks ago. But it still saddens me. Not only did Bob launch a regional hospitality empire with the opening of the old North Shore resort on Coeur d’Alene’s waterfront (site of today’s Coeur d’Alene Resort), but he later built Templin’s in Post Falls. After the hostile takeover of his hospitality industry by Duane Hagadone and partner Jerry Jaeger in 1983, Bob turned his attention to Post Falls, where he became a mover and shaker for growth and economic development. Through it all, he epitomized the word “hospitality.” He was a genuinely nice man. Here’s your Wild Card …
