Don’t get distracted

Distract and redirect is a strategy used by parents to change behavior in children. It’s very effective. Someone who is a master of this technique is Donald Trump.

The American people are rightfully concerned with Trump’s ties to Russia and demand answers? Do a photo op with Kanye West to discuss “life” and attention is diverted.

Taking heat for not divesting your business interests to avoid an unconstitutional conflict of interest? Tweet incessantly about China and Vanity Fair’s unkind review of your Trump Hotel restaurant, etc. We move on.

His followers, and the media, fall for it every time. Don’t follow the shiny object. Make Trump accountable. Too much is at stake.
