FlorineD: Best hot tamales in town

Commenter FlorineD offers a tip for those who enjoy an occasional hot tamale and/or a bowl of terrific soup:

In the “get there early, otherwise they run out” category, many people know that if you want the best tamales in town ya gotta get to Carambola before noon on a Friday; but the sell out also applies to their neighbor, Soul (as in Bowl of Soul), right next door. As the owner/cook explains, “I can only make so much soup in this tiny kitchen…” Today I and a companion, having experienced the “sold out” problem before, arrived at 11:30am and enjoyed a choice of two great soups, salads, and rolls. Be prepared to wait a few minutes if you want coffee; they make it, cup by cup upon order and it’s great. If you haven’t tried this cozy, warm, and welcoming place, I recommend it. They only sell soups and salads and minimal beverages. But get there early!
