Shots from the Inaugural Ball: Get your mind out of the gutter

OLYMPIA — Food and drinks were available in tents outside the Capitol Building for the reception before the inaugural Ball.

Decorating the tables were ice sculptures, including a dragon and this one at the Taylor Shellfish Co. table, a traditional inaugural center piece.

No, it’s not what you think.

It’s a geoduck.

Shuckers from Taylor were kept busy keeping enough of a wide variety of mollusks on ice and there were other delicacies to be found in the tents set up between the domed Legislative Building and the Temple of Justice, including the octopus and seaweed salad tarts from Olympic College.
