ABLE Act limited

I know many hard-working people, many making minimum wage and supporting families, in our community who now have health care they couldn’t get before. Pre-existing conditions is one thing that ACA takes care of, for example. There is no other option presented to cover health care needs, but Cathy McMorris Rodgers and her colleagues plan to tear this down right away (without another, better plan in place) and defund Planned Parenthood, a major provider of general and reproductive health care for women who can’t often afford this care (while wanting to stop abortions, which seems counterintuitive, as women need birth control in order to avoid pregnancies).

If she works for “all Americans,” does this include all of us, or just the ones she selects to serve? We are a community, and please remember Spokane has a large population that makes minimum wage and still needs to feed and clothe their families.

Her ABLE Act, legislation offering a tax break through “tax-free savings accounts” for families, may work if you have enough income to save, which is highly unlikely if you are making minimum wage and have children.

Please contact her. Say “no.”
