Sunshine feast winding down at Mount Spokane

WINTERSPORTS — The frigid weather of the past week was easier to tolerate by heading high to bask in the warmth and sunshine.

In case you haven’t noticed, when the weather report advises of air stagnation and burning restrictions, there’s probably an inversion. In those cases, skiers and snowshoers can head up through the low-level fog to find sunny slopes at Mount Spokane and temperatures 10 more more degrees warmer.

The recent episode of sunshine on the peaks is coming to an end tonight.
