We’ve reached the last full week of January. I can feel my spirits lifting already. In my house, I consider Feb. 2 (Groundhog’s Day) the beginning of the end of winter. Mrs. O disagrees with me, of course. She says winter doesn’t end until it warms up — and that could stretch in April and even early May sometimes. However, for my mental well being, I stick with Groundhog’s Day. It’s also a special day in my family because that was my father’s birthday. And the birthday of a best friend. I don’t care what happens to Punxsutawney Phil on Feb. 2. For me, it’s all sunshine ahead in this 48th year of my newspapering. When do you decided that winter’s over? Here’s your Wild Card …
