Idaho Dem leader to whites: Shaddup!

Sally Boynton Brown, the Idaho Democratic Party executive director and one of seven candidates to chair the Democratic National Committee, faces mounting criticism for comments made last week at the Democracy in Color forum in Washington, D.C.

In response to a question from moderator Joy-Ann Reid of MSNBC, Brown said “white leaders in the party have failed” and that it’s her job to “shut other white people down when they want to interrupt.”

Brown added, “Until we shut our mouths and listen to those people who don’t, and we lift our people up so that we all have equity in this country … we’re not going to break through this”/ Shelbie Harris , Idaho State Journal. More here.
