Hands off ACA

My members of Congress should protect and strengthen the Affordable Care Act, not repeal it. I personally know people who have directly benefited from the ACA, and though it may not be a perfect solution, it is far better than no insurance at all, which is precisely what those people had prior to the ACA.

I feel that the push to repeal the ACA is politically motivated and has nothing to do with improving it or with actually helping the people who rely on it for their health care. This is shameful behavior for so-called public servants who already have sufficient means at their disposal for their own health care.

Everyone is deserving of good health care, not just those who are wealthy and are provided health care by virtue of their political position. Just under 25 million Americans depend on the Affordable Care Act for insurance; another 5 million for Medicaid coverage. Thanks to the ACA, we now have the lowest uninsured rate in American history. Women can count on coverage of tests for cervical and breast cancer. I want to say to Washington’s and Idaho’s congressional members, hand’s off the Affordable Care Act.
