GOP plan is a plot
The S-R had an article about a group affiliated with House GOP leadership, which was running ads for a Republican alternative to Obamacare. Hoping to garner some information about the elusive Republican “replacement plan,” I went to the website of this group, American Action Network. Nothing here but a 30-second video stating that the Republicans have a plan that will provide more choices and better care at lower cost, etc. Visitors to the site are then urged to fill in and transmit a form indicating support for the Republican “plan.”
In truth, the Republican plan is to gut Obamacare by ending the premium supports and Medicaid expansion, which brought health insurance for the first time to over 20 million previously uninsured Americans. Repeal would also give a huge tax cut to the wealthiest Americans.
The Republicans have had over five years to come up with a replacement for Obamacare but haven’t done so despite having voted 60 times to repeal it. In a recent poll, 78 percent of Americans favored keeping all or parts of Obamacare.
Call Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and tell her it is not okay to take away health insurance from over 20 million Americans.
