CMR disrespects free press

Cathy McMorris Rodgers appeared on MSNBC on June 12 and stated, “I just feel like the media continue their drumbeat and really trying to brainwash America. …” She needs to be held accountable for her statements. A free press is vital to a healthy democracy and to have one of our elected officials painting all the media with such broad brush is unpatriotic and undermines our democracy. It shows a complete misunderstanding of our Constitution, where a free press is protected by the First Amendment.

Such propaganda from our own government officials who are supposed to be protecting and upholding the constitution is unacceptable. We the people also need to take responsibility as well and know the source of information we receive and to fact-check.
