Who does CMR represent?
AARP listed the members of the House Representatives who voted for the repeal of Obamacare. Of Washington state’s 10 representative (six Democrats and four Republicans) only one, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, voted for the repeal that will cause the loss of insurance on millions of Americans. As of this writing, the Senate has not yet voted on a similar bill, however our senators have vowed to oppose the bill.
Of the 12, CMR will be the only one who voted for a bill that will hurt the elderly and the poor.
The two bills provide tax cuts for the wealthy and will make insurance unattainable by those who can least afford it. So who was CMR considering with her vote? Washington has 39 counties, and 10 of them fall into CMR’s district. Of these, one is barely in the top third of earners while four are in the bottom third of income. Most of Washington’s wealthy are on the west side of the state, so who is CMR representing?
The bills in both the House and the Senate will allow insurance to raise the rates five times as much on the elderly. Considering the age characteristics, five of the nine counties of Washington with the highest average age are in CMR’s district. Who is CMR representing?
Looking locally, the health care industry is one of the largest industries in Spokane. Health care leaders have panned both the bills. So who does CMR represent?
